Weekly Roundup 3.28-4.3

Week 4 of 12

The past few weeks I’ve really struggled with motivation.  Maybe it was turning 30.  Maybe it was getting off track with traveling to New York after the unexpected passing of my grandpa.  Maybe it’s my diet and my forgetfulness not taking iron and vitamin D pills.  I don’t know.  I didn’t really miss any mileage and I got in some quality runs but I just don’t feel like I’m where I should be with 8 weeks to go until Buffalo.

I was so excited to see and run with my Run Club friends this week!  I’m a little embarrassed that it was my first Marathon Sports Run Club of the year but it was good to be back.  And its also pretty cool how much Run Club has grown.  There was a record 43 people there this week!

Tiff came over again on Wednesday and decided she wanted to do mile repeats. Tiff, thanks for pushing me and being so patient with Georgie!  (G accompanied us on our warm up.)

Thursday I was sore from speed work and didn't want to run but I'm thankful for a pup to drag me out the door.  Cotton PJs and all.  It was awful.  After I decided to do a 10’ TRX lower body workout and it killed me!  Then Georgie and I got caught in a downpour on Friday and ended with a half mile sprint for home.  The rain was coming down so hard I couldn’t even see where we were going!  My soreness continued until my treadmill long run on Saturday.  The weather was so crappy I stayed indoors and pushed myself to 7 miles with 5 miles at half marathon goal pace.  It went surprisingly well and I felt awesome.


With snow and cold in the 5-day forecast I’m a little worried about training next week.  Where’s the SUNNNN?!
